	VULCAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES Rear Admiral Judy Waidlich, Director waidlich@rci.rutgers.edu 331 Academy Terrace Apt. 17 Linden, NJ 07036 The Vulcan Academy of Science is designed to answer questions you may have about a particular science which has piqued your interest enough to learn more about it. VAS offers Specialist certificates in 30 science related areas plus electives based on sub-sciences, plus Treknobabble, logic and trivia, from many of the sciences that exist in our world today. To add that bit of thrilling science fiction, I've thrown in Star Trek trivia that relates to the sciences VAS offers. Click here to request courses via email Course Tuition: $1.00, LSASE (Legal-size Self Addressed Stamped Envelope), 2 Loose First-Class Stamps per course Also available for free by email or online The Basic Logic Course is required to be completed by all V.A.S. students, and is sent with your first course selection. College Overview There are three (3) specialist levels. All students who receive Distinction in all courses will receive an IDIC pin (as long as the pins are avilable). Students should complete all the currently available specialist courses at a particular level before taking courses at the next level. Specialist 1 courses require the student to complete one elective with each course. Specialist 2 courses require the student to complete 2 electives with each course. Specilaist 3 courses require th student to complete 3 electives with each course. All new students are given the basic logic exam along with the first course with the elective that they have choosen. If they have successfully completed the logic exam, they have a choice as to their Vulcan name. Completion of the logic exam has no bearing on a student's future enrollment within the Vulcan Academy of Science. V.A.S.
